Representatives of the Croatian Olympic Committee discussed possibilities of cooperation with a delegation from Shanghai

The delegation was led by Xu Qi, Director of the Shanghai Sports Bureau, and consisted of his colleagues from the administrative and financial sectors of sports.: Yu Shiping, Wu Shangrui, Zhang Yuan, Liang Li, and Chen Fengyuan. Representing the Croatian Olympic Committee and presenting its key segments were the meeting host, Secretary General Siniša Krajač, along with committee directors Neven Šavora (NSF and development programs), Damir Šegota (Olympic program), Hrvoje Balen (local sports), and Ranko Ćetković (marketing). Discussions covered the Croatian Olympic Committee's cooperation with national sports federations and support through development programs, particularly for young athletes; numerous programs for the development of sports at the local level; the outstanding Olympic achievements of Croatian athletes, and the Croatian House project, which regularly accompanies the summer editions of the Olympic Games. Professor Damir Knjaz also spoke about the sports system and the sports phenomenon in Croatia.

In addition to praising Croatia as a "small country of great athletes," the guests highlighted the six gold medals won by Shanghai athletes at the Tokyo Olympics, their high expectations for the Paris Games, where they will be represented by 43 athletes, and the support provided by around thirty companies for their sports activities. Naturally, the meeting at the Sheraton also discussed potential aspects of cooperation, especially in sports that are very popular and successful in Croatia (handball, water polo, sailing…).

The meeting concluded with an exchange of gifts, and the most joy among the guests from China was sparked by the jersey of the Croatian national football team captain Luka Modrić, which was presented to the head of the Shanghai delegation.
