Together with authors from the Croatian Olympic Committee and the Croatian Olympic Academy, the curators of these institutions have created an exhibition that takes visitors on a journey through the history of the Olympic Games.The exhibition organizers are the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb and the Croatian Sports Museum, alongside the Croatian Olympic Committee and its affiliate, the Croatian Olympic Academy. D2.2. "Set of Resources for Child Safeguarding Officers in Sport Organizations" – prof.dr.sc. Zrinka Greblo-Jurakić, child safeguarding expert, introduced this draft, which offers a valuable compilation of resources aimed at equipping Child Safeguarding Officers with the necessary tools to effectively perform their roles. During the meeting, partners collectively agreed on the importance of a thorough review involving all relevant national stakeholders. This collaborative approach aims to ensure the robustness and applicability of the guidance and resources provided. Additionally, the consortium committed to progressing the drafts for Work Package 3 (WP3) deliverables.A significant milestone highlighted in the meeting is the appointment of Child Safeguarding Officers in each partner NOC, scheduled to be completed by October. Zagreb, June 24, 2024 – The partners from the consortium of the EU-funded project "Safeguarding children in sport" (GUARD) convened online for the 2nd Team Project Meeting. This crucial meeting focused on reviewing and advancing key project deliverables aimed at safeguarding children in sports organizations.

He joined the Commission on December 1, 2021, during the 41st session of the Executive Committee of the European Olympic Committees held in Šamorín, Slovakia.During the EOC's Health and Anti-Doping Commission meeting in Split, discussions focused on strategic goals and actions aimed at protecting athletes' health (monitoring injuries, illnesses, and mental health), developing and improving knowledge in sports medicine through European healthcare (via online training programs and visits to EOC events for all National Olympic Committees' volunteers and medical staff), ensuring sustainable health care standards for athletes at EOC competitions (by drafting a document on the minimum requirements for athletes' health care to be included in the host city's agreement for the European Games), and more.It was proposed to launch comprehensive reporting structures and health surveys to monitor athletes' injuries, illnesses, and mental health at the 2027 European Games in Istanbul.

This year's competition titled "French Artistic Styles" is conducted in partnership with the Embassy of the French Republic in the Republic of Croatia. The competition theme is inspired by the upcoming Summer Games of the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris. Among other things, the French capital is known for its rich artistic history. This artistic connection was pivotal in selecting this year's theme for the prize competition "School Sports and the Olympic Movement" - "French Artistic Styles."Primary school students were tasked with creating a sports-themed artwork in the style of Fauvism, while secondary school students painted a sports-themed artwork in the style of Surrealism. A total of 661 submissions were received from 106 primary and secondary schools.In the primary school category, 553 artworks were submitted from 82 schools, while in the secondary school category, 108 artworks were received from 24 schools.The ceremony was attended by: H.E. The Croatian Olympic Academy, in collaboration with the Croatian School Sports Federation, has been organizing the School Sport and Olympic Movement competition for the thirteenth consecutive year.

The first thematic cycle, titled Legislation and Organization of Sports, was presented by Biserka Vrbek, the director of the Office for Legal and Status Affairs at the Croatian Olympic Committee. On the final day of the program, the Croatian Olympic Committee's coordinator for planning and analysis of national sports associations, Tanja Bilić Brenner, explained to the attendees how to prepare a financial plan, although financial aspects of sports will be the focus of the second thematic cycle, scheduled for September this year.The fundamental regulations, the Sports Act and the Associations Act, the performance of professional tasks in sports in accordance with legal provisions, the alignment of the statutes of HOO members with the HOO Statute and the Sports Act, what needs to be known about status issues and the rights of athletes in the sports system, sports categorization... - these are just some of the topics Biserka Vrbek discussed before some 70 representatives of national sports federations and the Croatian Olympic Committee.Although questions were intended for the end of the thematic chapters, the attendees addressed doubts and uncertainties from their professional practice the moment they arose, that is, during the lectures by the experts from the Croatian Olympic Committee.The usefulness of this education was discussed in the introductory part by the director of the Croatian Olympic Academy, Associate Professor Dr. Saša Ceraj, who thanked the expert lecturers from the Croatian Olympic Committee, as well as the collaborators from the Croatian Olympic Academy, for the preparation and implementation of the first thematic cycle.- The program includes topics that cover areas of exceptional importance for the daily functioning of the sports system. Zagreb, June 4, 2024 - On the occasion of signing the contract by which the Special Hospital St. Catherine, a longtime official hospital of the Croatian Olympic Committee and the Croatian Taekwondo Federation, was declared an International Center of Excellence for Sports Medicine by the World Taekwondo Federation (World Taekwondo) and the official hospital of WT, the Croatian Taekwondo Federation organized a press conference at the Sheraton Zagreb Hotel.

Many female athletes attended this workshop. More than 30 participants from various sports, both team sports like basketball, volleyball, futsal, soccer, and water polo, as well as individual sports like judo and badminton, took part in the workshop.The educational workshop was preceded by a press conference opened by the Director of the Office for Communications and International Relations of the Croatian Olympic Committee, Mia Baćić. The conference featured basketball player Carmen Miloglav, captain of the Ragusa female basketball club, and her teammate, Iva Todorić, who was named the most successful athlete of the City of Dubrovnik in 2023.The press conference, addressing media literacy, educational workshops, and gender equality in sport, was attended by the Vice President of the Croatian Olympic Committee and President of the Commission for Gender Equality in Sport, Morana Paliković Gruden, as well as the workshop lecturers Ratko Cvetnić (member of The Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts), Jura Ozmec (Sports Television editor-in-chief), and Marin Šarec (sports journalist).As with the previous six editions, this one-day educational workshop was intended for female athletes, referees, coaches, and sports administration employees. It aimed to improve the presentation of sport and female athletes in social media posts, enhance communication with media representatives, and prepare content to be shared with the public and media. The workshop attendees were led by instructors who have dedicated many years to addressing the representation of women in sport and the depiction of women's sport in media.In the introductory part of the workshop, the participants were greeted by its initiator, Morana Paliković Gruden, President of the Croatian Olympic Committee's Gender Equality in Sport Commission and Vice President of the Croatian Olympic Committee. She highlighted the importance of such educational workshops, got the attendees familiar with the project's history, and explained the program of activities.The first part of the practical exercises, involving simulations of athletes' television statements before and after performances and statements in the mixed zone, was led by Jura Ozmec. In the presentations following the practical exercises, Ratko Cvetnić spoke about the importance of media literacy and the advantages and pitfalls of the internet and social media, while journalist Marin Šarec addressed gender stereotypes and sexism in media coverage of women's sport. Mia Baćić acquainted the participants with the creation of content on social media, using the Croatian Olympic Committee as an example.The co-organizers of the workshop are the Croatian Olympic Committee's partners in the " Women's Voice in Sport" project: the Electronic Media, Agency for the Croatian Paralympic Committee, the Ombudsperson for Gender Equality, and the Office for Gender Equality of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.

The seventh educational workshop of the "'Women's Voice in Sport" project took place in Dubrovnik on May 17, 2024. It was organized by the Commission for Gender Equality in Sport of the Croatian Olympic Committee, with the generous assistance of the Dubrovnik Sport Community.

In March, the EOC Executive Committee accepted Istanbul as the host city of the fourth edition of the European Games and began the process of signing the MoU with the largest city in Türkiye. This formal step was taken by the EOC President Spyros Capralos, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, and Vice President of the Turkish Olympic Committee Kazım Âli Kiremitçioğlu. The ratification of the memorandum is expected at the EOC General Assembly meeting in June. The Games in Istanbul will build on the success of the European Games in Krakow and Małopolska in 2023, and the best European athletes will compete in numerous sports for a chance to qualify for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.At the ceremony in Rome, the EOC President Capralos, Istanbul Mayor İmamoğlu, and Turkish Olympic Committee Vice President Kiremitçioğlu expressed their joy and great excitement about the 2027 European Games."Today's Memorandum of Understanding will enable us to host the European Games. Türkiye is a country dedicated to sports and has a longstanding history of organizing outstanding events, in the past and recently alike. When we began our negotiations with the city of Istanbul and the Turkish Olympic Committee last year, we knew we had partners we could trust to deliver sucessful European Games. The city is already prepared to host the best European athletes, the infrastructure is in place, which will make these Games cost-effective and sustainable, built on the model that worked in Poland last year," said President Capralos, adding:"Istanbul has proven to be a city with people who have skills, experience, and passion for hosting fantastic events. It is a city with a great love for sports, and we look forward to working together to stage European Games that can encourage people of all ages across the continent to lead healthy lives and participate in sports. We believe that the European Games will build on the momentum of the Paris 2024 Olympics and the Winter Olympics in Italy 2026. Rome, May 16, 2024 - The European Olympic Committees (EOC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Rome with representatives from the City of Istanbul and the Turkish Olympic Committee, marking a historic step towards Istanbul hosting the European Games in 2027.

Branko Šubić is a versatile sports enthusiast - a former wrestler, later a shooter and darts player, who decided to take up athletics at the age of 54 - first in race walking, then in running. Under the motto "Lest We Forget," and to mark Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day, Croatian Veterans Day, Petrinja Veterans Day, and the Day of the Liberation of Petrinja, this patriotic athlete plans to run a truly demanding race from Savudrija to Petrinja from July 31 to August 6."It will be my most physically demanding ultramarathon to date, during which I will run over 300 kilometers with significant elevation changes in seven days," Branko Šubić said in his introduction, before continuing with details about the ultramarathon:"The daily average of the stages is 43 kilometers, with the longest one being over 51 kilometers. On the way from Savudrija, the westernmost point of our beautiful country, I will rest and stay overnight in Buzet, Matulji, Fužine, Vrbovsko, Duga Resa, and Topusko. As in previous events, I wish to visit monuments to the fallen and missing Croatian veterans in the towns I pass through, to pay my respects, and to light candles for those who gave their lives for Croatia."The President of the Committee, Zlatko Mateša, carefully reviewed the schedule of stages from Savudrija to Petrinja and suggested that the ultramarathoner collaborate with Sports Television to broadcast recorded material from various stages. The Secretary General of the Committee, Siniša Krajač, also proposed a preliminary interview on Sports Television before the ultramarathon.Regarding the Committee 's sponsorship of this unique initiative, the leading officials of the Committee promised to include Branko Šubić's request on the agenda of the next Committee Council meeting, to be held on May 21 in Zagreb.
