The "Parity in Sport" conference, organized by the NOC France, recently brought together influential figures and experts to discuss the crucial role of women in sports. NOC Croatia was invited to attend this enriching event, which featured thought-provoking discussions on gender equality and the necessary steps to achieve it.

Club of 300 is a project delivered by NOC France equipping women leaders with necessary skills, whose manager is Marie-Françoise Potereau, Vice-President of the NOC France for Paris 2024 and gender diversity. She sent a powerful message on the need for a more egalitarian society.

She further emphasized the importance of women's representation at all levels of sport and highlighted that securing funding is crucial to achieving these goals.

Annamarie Phelps CBE OLY, Chair of the Gender Equality, Diversity and Equality Commission for the European Olympic Committees, provided compelling evidence that gender equality in sports is not only a matter of fairness but also offers significant economic benefits.

Nicola Ehlermann, International Advisor on Gender and Anti-Corruption and co-author of the 2024 2GAP White Paper "Women, Sport and Governance," moderated the two round tables that formed the core of the conference.

The first round table addressed the topic of gender diversity in sports professions and the second round table focused on achieving parity in federal and regional sports bodies.

In her closing remarks, Nicola Ehlermann emphasized that achieving gender parity in the Olympic Games could serve as a powerful inspiration for broader societal changes towards equality. The "Parity in Sport" conference not only shed light on the current challenges but also paved the way for actionable solutions to advance gender equality in the world of sports. NOC Croatia was once again represented by its Vice-president and Gender Equality Commission President, Mrs Morana Paliković Gruden. As the discussions from this conference continue to resonate, it is clear that achieving gender parity in sports is not just a goal but a necessity for creating a fair and inclusive society.
