At the first Mediterranean Beach Games, held in Pescara (Italy) from August 28th to September 6th 2015, that gathered 906 participants from 24 countries and offered 11 sports disciplines, the Croatian athletes have won two bronze medals. The winner of the first bronze is the mixed swimming team - Karla Šitić, Ivan Šitić and Matija Luka Rafaj, while the winners of the second bronze are the beach volleyball players Ivan Željković and Filip Silič.

The first Croatian Mediterranean Beach Sports Team, under the guidance of the Croatian Olympic Committee's Office for Olympic Program, consisted of 14 athletes: Matija Luka Rafaj, Karla Šitić, Ivan Šitić (open water swimming), Ema Prenc, Maja Roško, Dina Bečić, Valentina Vrbanc, Ivan Zeljković, Filip Silić (men's and women's team in beach volleyball), Zvonimir Batinić, Igor Boraska (rowing) and Dora Bassi, Luka Đurđ and Igor Žagar (fin swimming).

The first international competition in beach and water sports - Aquathlon, Beach Volleyball, Open Water (long-distance) Swimming, Beach Handball, Beach Wrestling, Rowing Beach Sprint, Beach Soccer, Fin Swimming, Water Ski, Beach Tennis and Canoe Ocean Racing – was established by the General Assembly of the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (ICMG) on June 19th, 2013.
